To do something different is to take risks. Just five months after it opened, a Fountain Hill restaurant named for that goal has closed, and the team behind it is thankful to the community for helping it try at all.
Something Different, 605 Fiot St., announced online that it has closed, a “bittersweet” decision that the team said leaves the door open for “whatever’s next.”
“This quirky little concept has been a labor of love, late nights, and way too many ‘what if we just …’ ideas,” the post said. “But sometimes, even the boldest flavors need to take a breather. We’re beyond grateful for the love, laughs, and full bellies you’ve shared with us. You showed up, you supported, and you embraced the weird and for that, we thank you from the bottom of our sauté pans.”
The Prosseda family opened the restaurant in early February, replacing their Vineyard Di Norma restaurant, which closed in December.
Before that restaurant opened in 2021, Pietro and Maria DiMatteo operated the property as the Vineyard Restaurant for over 30 years before they retired.
