In one online survey of 3,000 U.S. adults conducted in March, only about 1 percent of the respondents said that they’d tried the DASH diet within the last year.

Although I knew that the Mediterranean and DASH diets are grossly overlooked, I had no idea that so few people have tried the DASH diet. That's sad given how healthy it is AND how much easier it is to follow than the kooky schemes that diet culture keeps pushing.

    Yeah it’s because neither is a sexy weird trick. They’re not shortcuts. They’re doing the obvious thing day after day. Everybody wants the easy way out…

    I feel like more people know about the Mediterranean diet. DASH can be very similar, but it’s more restrictive because it’s meant to be a diet to lower blood pressure.
