Made my first chicken tamales from scratch. Shunned the ready to use masa and made my own using masa, chicken broth from the two boiled chickens, fresh chicharone lard, sea salt, oregano, baking powder, homemade salsa verde with roasted tomatillos, jalapeños, habanero, garlic, and Serrano peppers, and the boiled peppers water which I added to the shredded chicken along with dried Ancho, Guajillo, and Chile De Arbo that I boiled chopped and separately immersion blended, and some Scorpion pepper hot sauce. This was a 5 hour effort that paid off big! This guy knew nothing about making this iconic food and I hit it outta the park thanks to the internet, Jose el cook from YouTube and a little “let’s do this!” attitude. ¡Muchas gracias! I am now super tired and happy!
