Worth noting is that at lunchtimes most restaurants will offer a well-priced ‘Plat du Jour’ (dish of the day), normally consisting of locally sourced meat, potatoes and a salad or seasonal vegetables.

Cafes and bakeries
In Méribel centre, you’ll find everything from hot breakfast rolls and full English breakfasts to egg butties, bagels, and porridge if that’s your thing. And like any French town or village, you’re never far from a bakery. Whether you’re in resort, by the pistes, or in the Village, there’s always a café with a sunny terrace where you can enjoy the view and some tasty pastries.
Boulangerie Au Pain d’Antan

The boulangerie has belonged to the family Gandy for 50 years. They have shops in all levels of Courchevel: Le Praz, Courchevel Village, Moriond, La Tania, two boutiques in Courchevel 1850 and one in Meribel village.

Child friendly restaurants
Most, if not all of the restaurants in resort are child friendly, especially if you let them know in advance. Evening meals are normally served from 19:00, and the restaurants are quieter at this time than later on.

Aux Petits Oignons restaurant, Méribel 1600

Owners Sarah Mundy and Eric Gelin have turned this restaurant into a popular eating place and a heart of Méribel social life. Aux Petits Oignons is open all year round and has a reputation for great food and drinks at fair prices and a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
La Fruitière Restaurant

This restaurant is ideally situated right on the slopes of Meribel at the Saulire Express mid station with easy access from the Maudit and Biche pistes. La Fruitière serves some of the best food to be had on the slopes with their dishes lovingly prepared by Franck Mischler, Maître Cuisinier de France.

Mediterranean restaurants
Like most places you don’t have to look far to find a good pizza restaurant, and many of the local French restaurants also do good pizza and pasta. Whilst you’re not in a Mediterranean seaside town, you’ll find in Méribel there are some menus that have a decent offering of seafood that wouldn’t look out of place on the French Riviera.
