1883 Hazlenut Syrup bought back in February. Stored in a cool dark place and only used a a handful of times.
There are a few thicker clumps in the picture.

    I had this happen with a syrup from a very reputable brand I won’t name here.

    They told me it was likely improperly stored, but it was stored with all the other syrups that didn’t mold.

    I think it’s a batch issue where a batch was under-acidified for whatever reason.

    An alternate theory is that something contaminated it after opening and the syrup wasn’t acidified enough to combat that particular contaminant.

    Just throw it out and hope it’s an isolated incident.
