I've decided to take the plunge on charcoal, after using propane since I was a kid. This popped up on marketplace for cheap.
Do y'all know if it's a kettle or one of the joes? Also, this may be a dumb question, but it does have the hinge or whatever on the lid right? The picture makes it look like lid is resting while open.
Any tips for what I should look for when inspecting? Just rust/holes?

Kettle. Literally the same one I have. I think it’s in another post but these were produced in China if I recall correctly. Bummer for me however the thing works just fine. It has one spot on the enamel that is a bit wonky but otherwise a perfect kettle. Mine was also free so that affects my feelings of it considerably 🤣
I have this exact same one. It doesn’t have a hinge, but it has a type of rail (not sure of a better way to describe it) that the lid sits on and holds it open. I got mine for $30 at an estate sale last year and love it.
