The weather has turned wet n’ windy here, so it has to be good to match the weather !
Lean steak mince fried with diced carrots and onions (like a sofrito then added the mince), also bloomed half a teaspoon of smoked paprika, cumin, dried oregano. Fried until the meat had some colour, added stock and finely chopped garlic and, the secret ingredient …….. tomato ketchup (I ran out of purée).
Simmered for an hour, stuck it in a couple of pie dishes and put in the fridge to cool / stiffen up.
Made some buttery mash with plenty of milk, grated cheese and herbs on top, oven at 180C for 25 minutes.
Served it with shredded greens (plenty of black pepper).
Sorted.
Enough for tomorrow too.
