CLEVELAND, Ohio – Marble Room Steaks & Raw Bar’s wine-dinner series will feature Spanish wines and dishes next month.
A six-course tasting menu will be served in the opulent restaurant’s vault. Wines from Spain’s Bodegas Muriel will be featured.
The dinner is 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 15.
Menu
• Wine: 2022 Pazo Cilleiro Albariño (crisp white wine). Dish: Charred octopus “A la Gallega” with potato puree, olive, celery ribbons, crispy jamon (ham).
• Wine: 2021 Bodegas Luis Alegre Crianza (Crianza is an aging classification). Dish: Black rice chorizo-stuffed calamari, garlic rock shrimp, padron peppers (usually mild Spanish green peppers).
• Wine: 2019 Bodegas Luis Alegre La Reñana. Dish: Cedar-roasted pork and chicken pinchos morunos (skewers), black garlic chimichurri (herb-based sauce), pan con tomate (grilled bread with tomato).
• Wine: 2018 Bodegas Muriel Reserva Rioja (Rioja is a Spanish region). Dish: Paella de Mariscos (seafood and rice) – clams, mussels, bacalao (codfish), shrimp, saffron bomba rice.
• Wine: 2015 Bodegas Muriel Gran Reserva. Dish: Estofado de Carne (beef stew), braised short ribs with patatas bravas (fried potatoes).
• Wine: 2016 Conde de Los Andes (Tempranillo). Dish: Torrijas (Spanish-style French toast), cana de oveja (cheese) ice cream, honey crème Anglaise (custard-like dessert), spiced Marcona almonds, candied chorizo, jamon chip.
