I made an account to ask about this. I am having my fence replaced and when I went out to check out my garden this evening I saw that they covered half of my garden in spray paint. I haven’t gotten a response from the company yet but I wanted to see if this can be salvaged at all, or what I need to do to remediate this.

I just wanna say I’m sorry :(. The tomatoes are hardy enough should be able to just prune the most heavily sprayed ones.

If that is ground marking paint it will wash off with water. It’s easier the freezer the paint.

Green spray paint will cover that up no problem 😉

It’s marking paint. It’ll wash off with water. Shouldn’t harm the plants really at all. Maybe don’t eat any fruits that have it. But any new fruits that appear after this should be okay. Whoever did this is an ahole. They easily could have marked around the plants.

To add to this, it may be paint used to mark utilities for safety purposes.

Those are utility line marks and are 100% necessary.

It’s unfortunate that your garden is over them, but now you know.

The paint itself is mostly harmless and washes off with water. Your plants should be fine.

  7. This shouldn’t harm the plant, but if he spayed the tomatoes themselves you probably will just need to wash them more abrasively before eating

  8. You might want to move that garden bed anyway. That paint is for marking utility lines. Utility workers aren’t going to care how much time and effort you put into your garden. If it is in the way they will move it.

FWIW, id get your one-call information and find out who marked the communication lines. There’s absolutely no reason for them to mark like that other than being a POS
