Thanks to a recommendation on this thread, I looked at medicine bottles as bean cellars. They hold 18 gr and work perfectly. Little sanding of lids to remove pharmacy logo and to give a nice satin look, some woodworking and am happy with the results.

I did spend several weeks "testing" the use of cellars to see if going the premeasured route was worth it. I found that having the beans premeasured made the process just slightly easier, especially when i would make my 2x-dbl shot espresso between meetings and often with a very close eye on clock before my next one started.

Premeasured beans needed? No.
Are they a huge improvement in convenience? Not really.
But does it help somewhat and make it more enjoyable? WIN!!!

I will always upvote a “why buy when you can make” solution.

Where did you get the medicine bottles from?

Is it airtight? Do you lose flavors in a few days?

    Hey OP, looks great!

If you’re wanting to replace the bottles at some point, I suggest considering test tubes. They’re glass, which is nice, generally the same standard size, and you can buy various types of stoppers for them 🙂
