I need something that takes OL capsules. Frother is optional for me.

I have the Pixie, and it’s a great machine. The *only* peeve is the cup tray isn’t adjustable, and while you can fold it up — it won’t stay put by itself. At least not that I’ve found. So not all mugs/cold drink cups will fit under the spout. Not to mention HyperChillers or large containers for descaling. Maybe that’s been redesigned? This one looks a bit different.

There’s a workaround for the Pixie, of course — I brew shots in an espresso cup and dump them into larger cups/mugs as needed.

  2. I love the Pixie. It’s a workhorse. It will give you thousands and thousands of espresso shots (capsules) for years to come.

I have the Essenza and love it. My understanding is the only difference between these two is the pixie is bigger, brewing technology is identical.

I chose the essenza for the very compact footprint. If you prefer leaving used containers inside your machine for as long as possible, go with the pixie, it holds ~10 where the essenza holds ~6. For me, the size is a game changer.

if you dont mind me asking, how was your experience was Latissima Plus? seeing that you’re not replacing it with the same model, would you recommend it?
