Hey so I’m a chemist and at one point I extracted a ton of capsaicin from about 40 peppers (carolina reapers being some of the more mild peppers) and made hot sauce out of it, the base peppers in the sauce are: carolina reapers, chocolate carolina reapers, hurt berry, death spiral, primotalii, and a ton of dragons breath peppers (2.48 million SHU) I ran mass spec on it and it should be about 10 million SHU….who wants some?!
But at these numbers you don’t get any taste anymore, right? These 2 million plus sauces are all pure capsaicin extract sauces I think? So basically just like spraying pepper spray or bear mace on your tongue.
