For years, I have not known what was in the Christmastime fish, but I just got the recipe from my mom. It is NOT ambrosia. It is NOT frogeye salad. It's instead a similar salad made of cottage cheese. That's where its lumpiness comes from. Also, no coconut, I guess? Recipe included.

    The most surprising part of this recipe is that it’s mayonnaise-free. Cottage cheese is used in dessert recipes and really not that weird.

    Normally these gelatin “salads” are pretty wild, but I can see this being good! All the flavors make sense together.
