RIP to my electric smoker… but at least the brisket wasn’t on it when it turned into an inferno.

First thing you do is take a video….

Putting out the fire isn’t as high of a priority.

    Thank you

Man oh man, you did that right. Hope everyone is okay.

When is the last time you cleaned it?

  4. Would of asked how the bark was but the brisket wasn’t on.

And this is why I cringe whenever I see someone with their grill or smoker right next to their house, on their porch, or in their garage. People think a grill fire will just be a little flareup that will burn itself out quickly if you just close the lid, but the reality is that they can get pretty big, pretty quick and take your house down with them.

I don’t think you’re getting that clear blue smoke

Nailed it. Bright side, you’re getting a new smoker.

A lot of talk about what could have been done or should have been done during the blaze. There is only one answer i can think of, and I dont remember the brand, but they make a blanket that once put on a fire, it suffocates it. I’m not sure that would even work, but it might.

  9. Just wait for that blue smoke and you’re good to go!

I dont think that is the type of smoke they were talking about

I only upvoted because my heart goes out to you. I’m glad everybody’s safe, especially the brisket!

Sorry OP. What are your leading theories as to how this happened?

“Awe man, honey, my smoker burned down, apparently some sort of faulty wiring, tried to put it out but these electrical fires are sneaky…….terrible way to go”….I guess I need a new one, you understand babe, anyways let me go get the latest one I’ve been wanting..”

I would have seared some steaks on that.

Also, this is why its important to keep your grills and smokers clean.
