I made a better version of the popular Zuppa Toscana soup from Olive Garden. And to prove it I even had a blind taste test!
Do you guys know that that popular Olive Garden soup that zupa tuscana? Well, I found a better way to make it. And I’m not trying to offend anybody when I say that, but I did. Let me show you how. So, basically what I’m going to do is I’m going to be making the first the original recipe first. I’m going to make the zuba tuscana with the ground pork, the small pot, and then I’m going to make my version, the second one, and then we’re going to have a taste test to the test and compare. And I have somebody who I’m not going to tell which bowl it is, and he’s going to tell you which one is good. First, we’re going to add two sausages to the pot and let it fry down. Next, we’re going to take out the sausages and then add them to a plate and then add the onions and garlic to fry. In the meantime, I’m going to chop up the sausages real fine and then add them back to the pot. After the pork sausage is fried, we’re going to go ahead and add our potatoes, then our chicken stock and water, necessary seasonings, and then put it to boil for 20 minutes. Wow. So, there’s a lot of fat at the top. We’re going to go ahead and add our kale to boil. I skipped recording that. So, this is what it looks like when it’s done, the kale. It’s a good amount. Add some parmesan. And this is the finished batch of the original recipe. All right. So, for the second recipe for this, I’m going to be using, you guessed it, ground beef. And not just any ground beef. It has to be 85% fat. No. Oh. Oh, this is 80% 80% lean. 20% fat. So, I’m going to do the same process as the last one. I’m going to brown down the ground beef and then put it into a pan. And then next, I’m going to add the onions to beef fat to fry down once that is done. Next, I’m going to do something a little different here. I’m going to splash it down with some white wine to use the pan. And then add back the ground beef, the potatoes, water, chicken stock, all the other same seasonings. And I’m going to put it to boil for 20 minutes. Go ahead and add the kale cream parmesan. And this is the finished product. All right, guys. Welcome back to our channel. Today, like I said, we’re going to be doing the experiment with the Olive Garden Zupata Tuscana soup. Testing which meat is the better, is the original. Are you the ground sausage better or the ground beef? Now, you don’t know which one is is which, right? Nope. Okay. So, you’re going to go alone by taste and I’m going to feed it to you cuz it’s hot. And then you’re going to tell us in the audience which one is better, right? Which one is it? Which one? Okay. All right. So, first off, start this one. I feel like a big baby, by the way. All right. That’s your mouth. Oh, wow. Give you a little second taste of that. So, you can Wow. That’s so good. Really? Mhm. Good, huh? Mhm. Okay. Okay. All right. Are you ready for the next one? Yep. Are you ready? Mhm. Open your mouth. Little little bit more lighter on the seasoning or the flavor. Give you another bite. Okay. So, you can be very sure of yourself. That’s a different meat. Okay. Okay. So, can you tell which meat it is? What do you think it is? It’s um pork. Okay. Interesting conclusion. All right. So, the first one that you had, can you give us a rating out of the first rating? The first one, what would you rate it out of 10? Um, definitely a nine and a half for me personally. Really? Really? Okay. Okay. What would you rate the second one? I’m going to have to go because it was more watered down to me and the meat tastes a little to me it tasted like pork. I’d say a strong seven and a half. Really? Yeah. Okay. Uh go ahead and take off your blindfold. And you’re going to All right. So, this is the one you rated out of nine and a half. You were right. This is ground beef, right? And this is You were also right again. I mean I mean how could you not we literally we eat all day. Right. Right. And this is a course you rated a seven seven and a half. Seven and a half. This one way stronger in the flavor profile. This one’s a little bit more watered down. And once again Yeah. Just in the the flavor. It’s just I’m see myself. Okay. So this is a zupa tuscana. Mhm. Oh yeah. Okay. This is a pork sausage and real pork. That is interesting. Okay. Struggle, struggle, struggle. Basically, in my words, the ground beef, right? It has a very beefy flavor that that you know that beef fat that um savory beef fat is just like smooth on your tongue and it’s very I don’t know just when you like bite into a hamburger like that kind of flavor like it but in soup and then this compared to it’s very good on its own but compared to the beef it’s like very mellow in flavor. You still can taste that nice um fattiness of the pork, but it’s dull in comparison to the ground beef, which is interesting. So, I agree with you. I would say the ground beef one that we always make, right? And ground beef, I would say, is like a nine and a half. I I like it the more number one for me. Number two, I would say the pork sausage good, but I would say what you say, my versions better. I I like yours better. Um, I told you you was going to like my version better. I like it better. Um, it just much more flavorful to me. I like flavor. Yeah, it’s just more fun, you know, more interesting. So, sorry, pork. Yeah. So, yeah, that’s that’s my conclusion. All right, guys.
