The Gastronomic fair : general informations
The first edition of the Gastronomic Fair of the francophonie will take place on Saturday, March 15th from 4pm to 9.30pm at the Fringe Club (Dairy Room), 2 Lower Albert Road, Central, Hong Kong (MTR Central Station Exit D).
The Francophonie gastronomic fair will bring together caterers, restaurateurs and wine merchants from all over Hong Kong who will be offering you a selection of specialities from different French-speaking countries: France, Belgium, Switzerland, Senegal …
Crêpes, boeuf bourguignon, wine, cheese, chocolate or alokos, there’s something for everyone!
Admission to the fair is free.
Come along and celebrate the French-speaking world through gastronomy, and feast on dishes prepared by our partners.
The workshops
For your enjoyment, our participants will be offering events throughout the gastronomic fair: wine workshops or demonstrations of culinary techniques. Don’t hesitate to register free of charge below (please note that places are limited!):
Workshop 1 (4:00pm) : Cooking demonstration with Michel Lo
During this workshop, Michel Lo will captivate us with a surprise culinary demonstration, showcasing the significance of ingredients and creativity in the kitchen.

Workshop 2 (4:30pm)French wine tasting with Jean-Baptiste from The Wine Guild
Discover 4 certified organic wines (two reds and two whites) produced in the Southern Côtes du Rhône by two different producers. Although produced in the same place, the wines have completely different styles. The idea of this workshop is to illustrate the choices made by the winemaker and their impact on the style of the wine.

Workshop 3 (5:00pm): Crêpes workshop with La Crêperie
Make your own crepe! La Creperie is happy to give the opportunity to its guests to cook a crepe using its professional equipment. Our Chef will give a demonstration and provide some tips to make a nice and authentic Brittany savory or sweet crepe, using various filling such as ham, Emmental cheese, dark chocolate or salted butter caramel, some fruits and whipped cream. Then, you will be able to enjoy the crepe you have created. Yummy… Bon appétit !

Workshop 4 (5:30pm): Swiss wine tasting with Damien Fleury from The Swiss Wine Shop
Explore the little-known world of Swiss wines touring the Swiss wine landscape and regions tasting of 4 to 6 wines from Suisse Romande, the French speaking part of the country, and 4 cheeses.

Michel Lo
Born and raised in Belgium with French origins, Michel Lo began his culinary journey with four years of French cookery studies at a culinary school. He honed his skills in Belgium and near Paris, where he discovered his passion for food sculpture.
Michel ran his family’s restaurant for 15 years before switching to teaching. He obtained a teaching diploma and taught in a state school for 18 years from the age of 26. Throughout his career, he met influential French chefs who encouraged him to take part in culinary competitions and join associations such as the Académie culinaire de France, the Toques françaises and the Disciples d’Escoffier.
In 2018, Michel won a bronze medal at the Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg. His culinary creations have been presented at the chocolate museums in Brussels and Bruges, as well as at the Quai d’Orsay in Paris. He is also a judge at the International Institute of Taste in Brussels, where he helps to award the annual food prizes.

Racine Patisserie: Daisy Cheung
Formed in École Ducasse, gained experience working in various patisseries across France. Upon returning to Hong Kong, began to craft authentic French pastries and products blending authentic French flavors with a Cantonese twist.
