Hey y’all. So, I’m in the kitchen again and I am making this seafood pasta salad with shrimp and crab. And it’s really delicious and it’s super duper easy. So, I got the cameras on and you guys can see what to do. So, first you’re going to start off by boiling like one lb of elbow macaroni. I also have some onions here, some celery, some bell pepper, as well as some tomatoes. Um, you can also skip the tomatoes if you don’t like it, but I’m adding them in there because it just gives a good flavor to it. I’m also going to be using some imitation crab and I’m going to be using some cooked shrimp. So, first what you want to do is make sure that your macaroni is cold, that it’s been chilled. If necessary, you can run some cold water over it. If you have time, you can put it in the refrigerator, but you just want to make sure that macaroni is cold. Um, once it’s been chilled, you want to add in your veggies. Again, the bell pepper, celery, tomato, as well as onions. If you don’t like onions, you can take those out. My husband hates onions, but because it’s so much going on in this salad, he didn’t even realize I had some onions in there. So, other ingredients that I’m going to be adding in there is some Helmans. I normally use Craft mayo, but because they were out, I ended up using Helmans, and it tastes just as good. Um, so I’ve added the imitation crab meat in there. And then I’m going to add my seasonings, which will be some seasoning salt as well as some black pepper. And you want to adjust your seasonings um, as you go. I start off with at least one teaspoon of seasoning salt and then one teaspoon of black pepper. And then I’m going to start adding the the mayo to the salad. So, you know, you’re going to depending on how much you’re making, but if you’re following the recipe that’s on my website, you’re going to be dumping a lot of that mayo in there, cuz you want to make sure it’s nice and creamy. And that creamy consistency is going to take place while that macaroni is cold. So, you again, you want to make sure that macaroni is cold before you start adding the mayo to that. That was a mistake that I learned very hard my first years of trying to make this salad, but my parents used to make this all the time. and I wanted to make it at home and I had to learn that oh yeah, the macaroni has to be cold before you start adding that mayo on there. So yes, that’s just a tip to make sure you have it cold. So you’re going to end up adding some more mayo if necessary and you’re going to add more seasoning, salt, as well as black pepper if it’s needed. You know, you’re using your own taste buds for that. So, you’re just going to keep mixing all of this up and once you get it to the creamy consistency that you want it to be at, um, you’re just going to taste it and it’s going to be delicious and everyone’s going to like it. So, again, very super easy recipe. It’s a great recipe for, you know, your cookouts, you know, during the summer time. I also make this during the holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas and Easter. Um, or anytime there’s like a big potluck. Um, and you can do the same. So, recipe again is at plus-size chicago.com. Just search for shrimp and crab pasta salad and you’ll find it on the website.
