Was this ever in doubt? I’ve been smoking on my Weber gasser for a decade.

    Sure can!

I’ve seen that wooly booly offered before..idk. My kettle has no problem keeping temp in the winter

I primarily use my Webber to smoke. Not cold smoke or anything, but low and slow, slow and sear for the win.

Is the wooly bully more for protection of the shell or insulation of the heat?

  6. Kem_Bre-82

Smoking meatloaf and cream cheese on mine right now. No wooly bully needed. I’ve found I don’t even use my WSM anymore.

The Slow ‘N’ Sear is killer for the kettle

  8. Saw a post where someone used a welding blanket from Harbor Freight. 4×6 is $19.99.

Mentioned he used way less charcoal.

  9. Saintpendulous88

Do you use the baskets or snake/fuse method?

  10. EaddyAcres

Yup even the basic version with the regular ash pan and no blanket is an excellent smoker, with practice and learned intuition.

  11. SouthSideCountryClub

Sure can, been using it for year. 11 hours easy

Awesome if the flavor of combusting charcoal is your thing. I prefer the taste of wood smoke so I grill on my grill and smoke in my smoker.

These ad posts are getting really obnoxious

I have the only fire ceramics, and I’m wondering if I should snag one of these and some seals for peak performance

I didn’t realize there was anyone anywhere that doubted a Webber could do anything.

yikes, some of you guys need a fucking nap. get over yourselves.

Since this is an ad, can you educate me? Does the lid still fit in the holder with this thing on?

  18. Sawathingonce

What a revelation. Been smoking with mine for 15 years but thanks for the tip.

Out of all my many smokers, I always come back to ol faithful…a good cheap Weber kettle with accessories (vortex, slow n sear, rotisserie kit), the list goes on. I have more money in the accessories and the kettle is just a perfect little backyard smoker and it’s so fun to cook on. I always find myself cooking 95% of my meals on it, it’s just so hard to beat. I also find that it works even in the dead of winter in the Rocky Mountains without a blanket. And I use it all winter long

Yep it can smoke. And doesn’t need a blanket to do so, either. But I do love my Spider Venom fan controller. Set it and forget it pretty much.
