LOL, what movie is this from?
last place i worked at the dining room would slowly fill up but no orders. the bar and patio would also fill up. i’d tell the front of house to get out there and take some food orders. i’d get told that i’m an idiot. eventually one table orders and suddenly all the slack jawed yokels in the dining room remember that food is a thing. i’m now making food for pretty much everyone in the place at the same time.
server comes back asks for the longest fire time items for table 26. they’re buried 12 + tickets deep and those old guys do this every friday. sit for two or three hours and then order during the rush, then complain about it immediately because to them sitting there means their food should come out first.
my ex wife (who was a server) pulled this shit too. we would go out and get seated and i’d know what i wanted and she’d suddenly develop amnesia and need to contemplate the menu. she would eventually order the same thing and then gripe about the wait. i’m like “a six top, two two tops, and an eight top got seated after us and ordered before us” and she would say “yeah but we were here first”
some people are their own obstacle.
Same waitress that went to 10 tables in a row and then sat at the POS for 20 mins punching it all in.
I literally learned to speak Spanish from the line cooks telling me to go fuck myself in every way known to the language. Then I became a line cook. I understood. Swearing en Español is far superior.
Especially when the servers collect tickets like Pokémon and put them all through at once. I don’t know the flow of their job all I know is it’s annoying lmao
the table with 5 well done surf and turf platters that has to catch a show 15 min from when they sat down. Is angry that the guy at the bar that sat after them got his basket of fries before them.
