Franklin remains on my bucket list, so this is as close as I might get for now. Have some ribs and pork belly set aside to try them out on

These have been on shelves here for years now

Is this a thick Kansas City style BBQ sauce?
Or thin vinegary Texas style for brisket?

My grocery store always seems to have them on sale/clearance, I don’t think they were doing that well, but I really liked it for the flavor and lack of sugar/artificial ingredients

If you ever get there. Be sure to try the espresso sauce. It’s 🔥

Not ‘round my area. Sadness.

Try the vinegar-based one, it comes with a blue label. Really good with pulled pork IMO (but I also put it on everything).

Moved from Texas to Washington 3 years ago and recently started seeing these on the shelf. My go to sauce in Texas was Rudy’s and found that this came close to it. Besides the Franklin sauce and basic Stubbs sauce it is difficult to find sauces that are not a sugar bomb (sweet baby rays is prime example of too much sugar).
When I bought the Franklin sauce i also bought Stubbs sweet and sticky (still less sugared than the rest but more than their basic) as I was using this for pork ribs after a long smoke and setting tack. The Franklin sauce I found was a god brisket sandwich sauce and a good dipping sauce, but lacked the amount of sweetness I was seeking for the ribs, hence the Stubbs sweet and sticky (which workded very well for ribs rack, but I found too sweet for dipping and sandwiches).
If you want to try franklins you can get one shipped frozen (I believe goldees and Rudy’s both do this as well). Not cheap but likely less than a visit to Austin, and less time consuming then trying to replicate on an offset at home.
Here is Jeremy Yoder doing a review from a few years back.
Franklin wants $36 for three bottles. Walmart has it under $5 or under $15 for three packs.

Raising this up to top level. There is a Franklin barbecue book and it contains recipes for several of their sauces.

Literally just picked up a bottle of this the other day at a Krogers, was also surprised to see it. Vinegar-based one went really well with the pulled pork I made.

Great price, too.
