Another flight and an updated wine list… Which I haven't been able to finish…
Red:
Chateau Pontet-Canet (2012):
Nose full of pencil lead and graphite. Deep scent of blackberries and cassis.
Palate is dry, medium-bodied feel, with gravel influence and Cedar wood influence.
Finish had a refreshing acidity and a slight tannic feel.
I drank this red the most:)
Torbreck RunRig Shiraz Viognier (2015):
A unique nose of dark chocolate dipped cherries.
Full-bodied palate, yet I was drinking it closer to the end, so my notes are lacking:)
White:
Sancerre Sauvage Pascal Jolivet (2022):
A balanced nose of minerals and limestone influence.
Palate felt neutral, lighter than stated 13.5%, with slight acidity and citrus notes.
Finish of faint honey notes, peach skin, slight bitterness, and greater minerality.
Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne Louis Jadot (2017):
Nose of citrus freshness, and even more minerality than the previous white.
Palate of greater honey notes, richer minerality, creamy feel, prime example of limestone soil influence.
Finish was more full-bodied, slight dryness, and a touch of acidity.
I enjoyed this white the most;)
Dessert:
Graham's Colheita Tawny Port (1982):
A strong nose full of caramel, roasted almonds and spice melange;)
Palate was delicate, with a silky texture. Flavour of caramel meets butterscotch, and dried figs.
Chateau de Fargues (2005):
The Sauternes had peachy influence, previous Sauternes offerings were more enjoyable for my palate.

You didn’t get any champagne?
Shouldn’t you be watching Die Hard 2 whilst on a plane?
I have never flown in this type of luxury and have a serious question:
What happens if you have a spread in front of you like the last picture (caviar, full accompaniments, wine) and you start to hit turbulence, causing the aircraft to shake. Do the FA’s come over and whisk everything away? Is the plane so formidable that turbulence doesn’t affect it as much as a regular commercial airliner?
As someone who travels mostly in economy on standard airlines (JetBlue, Southwest) I cannot imagine having all that laid out on a tray table and then hitting turbulence and the plane violently shaking. It would go everywhere!
That’s a pretty killer list
Damn, that’s fancy…. No, I’m not jealous, not me, no sir!
Spice melange eh? Gain any powers after drinking that – prescient visions, ability to fold space time..?
Here’s our wine list. Yes I’ll have all of them.
That Jadot La Garenne is a favorite of mine, truly a standout in the lineup for my palate. I had it within a few days of a Faiveley Corton Charlie (3x the price probably) and would have taken the Jadot every time. Such stellar whites these days.
WOW
Picture #7 is heavenly. That’s a generous amount of caviar
My dumb ass thinking that’s a video of a cosy fireplace but it’s actually xenomorph eggs getting blazed by a flamethrower 👽
Doesn‘t flying mess up your taste of sense which is why airlines flavor their meals in a way your probably would not want to eat it on ground level?
If so this must change your perception of wine quite a bit?
Wine porn is forbidden on this sub, but luckily, movie porn is not. Hmmm… maybe not the best way to phrase that. Oh, well.
Pascal Jolivet Sauvage! Nice choice. Unfiltered, lees aging, old vines.
You get the whole bottle? Would think one person just gets a glass..
Awesome. But what I don’t get is this bloated 90’s interface of the inflight entertainment system? Makes the wines feel younger as well I guess 😉
