Piada Italian Street Food, the fast-casual Italian restaurant concept, is testing three versions of chicken tenders, the company said this week.

The Columbus, Ohio-based brand is offering the new item in three flavors: Italian Hot Honey, Basil Parm, and plain crispy with a sauce of the customers’ choice.

Suggested pricing for the Basil Parm and Italian Hot Honey tenders are $7.99 for two tenders, and the crispy tenders are $6.99 for two.

The tenders are being tested at nine restaurants in the Columbus market, a spokesperson said.

“Chicken tenders are a familiar favorite, but we’re reimagining them with bold, Italian-inspired flavors that reflect what today’s fast-casual guest is craving, comfort food with a twist,” said Dawn McClung, Piada’s culinary innovation manager, said in a statement.

According to data firm Technomic, nearly three in four consumers now eat chicken at least once a week, and nearly half say they’re actively looking for new ways to enjoy it when dining out.

Piada, founded in 2010, has 60 locations across Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
