Legenia Bearden, a celebrated food content creator and culinary influencer from Little Rock, is set to dazzle audiences with her cooking prowess on Food Network’s new show, “Family Recipe Showdown.”
Bearden shared her journey into the culinary world, saying, “I started in 2019. I started the keto diet, and I wanted to share some of the recipes that I was making up online.”
Her passion for cooking led her to create a YouTube channel, which quickly gained a following. “I really started to enjoy it,” she said, branching out to Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Her big break came when a casting agency reached out to her on Instagram.
“At first I ignored them a few times, and they were really persistent about having me on the show,” Bearden said.
After a series of interviews, she was thrilled to be chosen for the show.
The experience taught her a valuable lesson. “It taught me that I need to believe in myself more,” she said. “I have more confidence in the kitchen.”
“Family Recipe Showdown” features hosts Octavia Spencer and New Orleans chef Duke, who explore Southern cooking and family secret recipes.
Bearden participated with her aunt Cynthia, bringing their family’s heritage to the show. “It was fun,” she said.
“My aunt is amazing. She’s fun, and it brought a lot of calm to what can be a chaotic situation.”
Bearden described the pressure of cooking on set. “It was hard,” she admitted.
“You have a set time and you have all of these camera crew and hot lights and everyone around you.” Despite the challenges, she found joy in sharing her recipes and encouraged others to do the same.
Fans can follow Bearden’s culinary adventures on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube under “Sincerely Legenia,” or visit her website.
For those curious about her cooking for Tina Knowles, Bearden teased, “Watch and see what she thought about it.”
