First run for a new grate I got for my birthday, I like it more than I though I would on the 26” Weber.

Smash or pass, but don’t pass then smash
Prestigious_Most5624
What’s something similar I could get for a large size grill. Rectangular shaped.
AMDeez_nutz
Don’t have to try it, already know it’s dry

I couldn’t actually watch the whole thing, I get triggered when I see people smashing all the juice out of burgers like that. 😬

As others have mentioned, don’t smash the burgers after they have been cooking for a bit. The time for smashing is immediately after putting them on the grill. If you do it later in the cook, all you are doing is making them dry.
I might rotate the flat part a bit so that you can manipulate the food without being smoked out or having to reach over the hot coals. Basically rotate 90 degrees and that would likely be perfect. Or even 180 if you are just doing things that use the flat portion.
Looks cool though. I am glad you are enjoying your new toy.

Man you squeezed all the juice out of it

DerelictDonkeyEngine
Yeah I’ll take a hotdog or sides at this cookout over one of those burgers squeezed of all their juice.

Yes hello, I’d like to report a murder.

Other than size, obviously, how would you say the 26″ compares to the 22″ weber? Is it worth the step up?
KanoodleSoup
Your backyard looks cozy. Would love to know the brand of the grate if you do figure it out

The grate looks like a really nice upgrade.
apex_super_predator
Damn bro i have looked high and low for that same grate.
Mean-Cheesecake-2635
Man not to pile on but the smashing…
Does grilling them on the flat top still give them a grilled taste? Kind of confused as to why you’d go to the trouble of lighting coals to get the same burger you could make on a griddle or skillet. Looks like it’d be handy for griddling your buns though.

Glittering_Nobody402
The shitty single dad special!
I bet you put it on a slice of white bread with overly wet ketchup bleeding through.
No need to comment back, I’ve seen enough of your other replies.
Dread1187
Turn it around to prevent that flare up issue on your arm. Looks like a solid option though!

Yo, after seeing this fool messed up on this thing, what I wanna know is is the 26 inch Weber worth it?
legalbeagle1989
Please just leave those poor burgers alone.
No_Key8981
Let the man cook, perhaps he is reducing grease intake. Also, this is the first charcoal anything that I want for my very own. Neat!
protomanEXE1995
Your flat top is too hot. They’re burning in some areas and not cooking at all in others.
