GF just got her dream job so I popped this over steaks tonight. It’s dynamite! Drank a 2015 last week as well. It was one of the best Oregon pinots we’ve had.

Edit to add: thanks to the tip from the person who responded to me, I definitely will NOT be buying this.
Thanks for the tip! I’m driving to the city tomorrow and one of the wine stores I patronize has it, looking forward to it.
Love it when $50-100 tips are found in this sub.

The owner of Domaine Serene and her husband both donated $50,000 to Trump’s PAC in 2016. Do with that what you will.

Congrats on her new job and glad you enjoyed it but there are many, many, many better options and wineries worth supporting. The Evenstads are huge Trump donors.
Better options: Hundred Suns, Brick House, Cameron, Beckham, Bergstrom, Walter Scott, Eyrie, JK Carriere, Cristom, Eminent Donaine, Lingua Franca, Adelsheim, Patty Green to name a few.
it’s honestly amazing how well Serene Pinot represents the members of the Trumpy right who also fancy themself wine connoisseurs. never fails.

I couldn’t wait to open the comment section to see what r/wine had to say about this bottle. Did not disappoint.

In my experience in the Willamette Valley, the producers all seem to like each other and work together and foster a real sense of community, except when it comes to Domajne Serene, everyone seems to hate those guys

Congrats to her and I hope you get to try even an average Oregon Pinot at some point as this is one of the ugliest and most overoaked/over extracted at the price point. And that’s apart from them being MAGA millionaires and doing a lot of harm to Oregon wine in general

I actually really enjoyed this one. Had it the other night with some friends, and paired with the 2020. IMO it’s not wildly complex, but it’s always a consistently solid choice

I didn’t particularly love wine until I had a glass of this. This stuff kind of made me get it.

Nice one!
Cheers
I’m properly jealous.
