Calgary’s West End has seen an influx of new dining destinations over the last month, with the most recent addition bringing classic Italian cuisine to the area.

Mille, a new restaurant and cafe concept, has just opened its doors at 1000 7th Ave. SW, with a menu that draws inspiration from the rich and diverse regional culinary offerings of Italy.

The concept has been brought to life by restaurateur Jenna Bazzana, the name behind the much-loved Sauce Italian Market, which sadly closed its doors last year.

The interior is light and bright, featuring ornate panelling, large shimmering chandeliers, and contrasted with moody marble and burnt orange accents. Meanwhile, the outside is equally impressive, complete with a large patio and fire pit tables.

Operating day and night, Mille is a one-stop shop for everything from a morning shot of espresso to late-night cocktails, all served alongside delicious bites.

For lunch, Mille will offer a wide selection of antipasti from bruschetta to tuna crudo, alongside pasta dishes and salads.

Its dinner service menu is extended with offerings such as its Vitello Milanese, fried veal with heritage tomatoes and arugula lemon salad and its Salmone Piccante, with Calabrian chili-baked salmon, salsa verde, and tomato corn salad.

No good Italian meal would be complete without dessert, with Mille offering cannoli, filled to order, and, of course, tiramisu.

Reservations for Mille are now open.
