Iβve been buying boring bottled dressings from the supermarket and been praying to the culinary gods for forgiveness the last decade, finally a solution!
What can I use instead of citrus? I have a friend who is allergic to the citrus, so I need alternative, please. Since you already used vinegar, should I just use more vinegar as they are both acids?
Here's the thing A lot of this is me buying ingredients that I don't really use often enough to justify buying the ingredients just to make dressings or sauces. I'd have to ensure I'm making the dressings constantly enough to use up all of what I bought, and I often don't need dressings more than a couple meals at a time.
Be careful about using too much olive oil, it solidifies at fridge temperature, so if you use it, make sure to take it out a few minutes ahead of time so it can melt. It won't be as bad if you blend it with other oil as in this recipe.
Honestly I don't even like vinaigrette. Too sweet. I dont like sweet foods very much. Upsets my stomache. But I do want to try my hand at making some ranch dressing from scratch. I already know how to make mayonnaise. Depending on the recipe that you get, you're pretty much just diluting and seasoning mayonnaise to make the ranch.
So buy a buch of bottles instead of 1 bottle. You should contact these guys and let them know tgey are wasting time. Why buy their bottle when you can buy 18 bottles to make 1. Makes since to me. And dont forget to be ashamed of yourself for buying 1 bottle
Mustard is an amazing emulsifier. If you go more slowly with the oil at the start youβd get a thick dressing that you can let down with water if you so wish.

I make the chickfila market salad at home with the apple cider vinegarette. Use a rotisserie chicken and sprinkle a little tonys on it. So good.

rumor has it the fridge successfully obtained a restraining order
I always thought vinaigrette was more of a 1:1 ratio of acid to oil
If you're still using meats produced in the US, you better pray to the culinary gods for forgiveness
@thatdudecancook can you share a recipe for a dressing that involves an immersion blender?

I really like adding cumin and finely diced shallots to this dressing! Works out very nicely. Sometimes even garlic
Sorry but the American impulse to put sweeteners in vinaigrettes is where I draw the line βπ€
Where have you been? Rarely see you in my feed.
I did not like this at all.
