SAINT LOUIS, Mo. — If you’ve lived in St. Louis for a few minutes, you know there are some iconic desserts in the region. But St. Louis Magazine’s Cheryl Baehr picked her favorites with the hopes of highlighting some underrated treats.

Baehr and George Mahe dive in on their podcast, Arch Eats:

Baehr recently stopped by Today in St. Louis+ to talk about a handful of her favorites, starting with The Fountain on Locust’s pineapple upside down mug. The restaurant puts its own spin on this classic dessert, complete with a scratch-made sponge cake baked in a mug, topped with Vanilla Deluxe or creamy Coconut Almond Joy ice cream, along with whipped cream and hot caramel. As the restaurant says, it’s a reimagined classic that’s been winning over hearts for generations.
