Are Wings really bad for you if Grilled- opposed to Fried?
The Mrs told me that wings twice a week are not good for me- in which my reply was, but they’re damn good, allows me to try different homemade sauces, and grilled not deep-fried.
Which led to the question. What Say You?

Grilled is better for you. However. Eat what you want to eat. We only live once. I choose to live mine eating wings.

Yeah I mean not dipping something into hot oil is gonna be better for you than dipping it into hot oil. But it’s the sauces that get ya, I did the math on my favorite concoction lately and it’s like 350 cals per table spoon

– Dry them with paper towels – Coat them in baking powder with salt – Refrigerate over night – Bake low and slow for an hour flipping every 20 – Toss in some sauce – Get the Grill as hot as you can and grill for 2 mins on each side over flame.

Grilled wings 2x a week is not unhealthy

Anything grilled is going to be generally healthier for you vs the same food that has been fried, without question

Try frying them in something other than seed oils…. tallow is pretty good especially after you grill/ smoke the wings. The smell that is produced when you grill/smoke something then fry it in tallow is amazing

I rarely buy wings because I think they’re so pricey in my area. The fact you’re having them twice a week, i’m pretty damn jel…

Wings have a decent amount of fat to them regardless. They’re *slightly* healthier grilled. That said, if the rest of your diet is decent, wings twice a week won’t be what kills you later in life.

Yes but depends if you sauce them

A plain grilled wing is better, but no one wants that. It also will depend on what is on the wings. Sauces and seasonings could be high in sodium or sugar, etc.

Fried vs not fried changes things for sure.
Not many foods are strictly “bad” for you. That being said wings macros are pretty different than say drum sticks since a pound of wings has a looot more skin than a pound of drumsticks.
Plus how we tend to eat them makes a difference and wings get a lot more sauces, like buffalo sauce that is 50% butter.
