Had some friends come over for board games tonight and decided to do this for the meal based off recommendations given to me by the person who got me into sous vide. I took 6 pounds of ground beef, seasoned it. Well, vacuum, sealed it, and sous vide at 139 for one and a half hours. Rest in the fridge and then onto the charcoal Weber 22 inch. Overcooked the first batch a little bit because I’m still learning how to use the charcoal grill, but they came out great! Have been pan cooking burgers before this so these came out a lot better!

Thank you for your picture post to r/souvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

Why sous vide these? Why not just grill em? That’s how burgers were destined to be cooked
Every day we stray further from God’s light
More work than it’s worth brother, just do them on the flat top
So did you chop up each of those bags into four burgers?
I mean, more power to you, but this seems like a lot of extra work for an already very easy to make dish. 🙂
I dunno man
Overkill. Make a burger on the stove or on the grill. Smash, BBQ-save your water and your sous vide machine.
There are many ways to do this. This is not the way.
Looks good, and now I’m craving some Wendy’s.
Hmmmm……I mean, it would have taken very little time to shape these burgers properly….. but if no one cares and they taste good then I guess it’s a win.
Keep trying!
Perfect way to cook some burgers and play some games with the homies. Who won?
Reverse sear in the oven is a whole lot less work and almost as fool-proof. Form your patties, put them in a preheated oven at 250° on a sheet pan with a wire rack until your instant read thermometer shows 139°. Pull and sear in a dry pan 500° flipping every 60 seconds until your desired crust is formed. Done.
