I bought one of those Ben & Jerry ice creams with the core in the middle of it. My roommate opened it and somehow dug out just the core, and it looked a lot like this. I was kind of impressed with her accuracy and surgeon-like precision.

I’m mostly certain theses get filled up via a tube dispensing into the carton. It’s probably from the tube being pulled out of the ice cream in production and an air pocket got left behind
