went to a steakhouse, got a 60 dollar ribeye. I specifically ordered medium. this was the steak that was presented.

That looks like manufactured meat. But yeah, I’d say rare. Too high heat for not long enough for med/rare

Steak isn’t hard to cook if you have a thermometer and a little patience. Restaurants lack one and seem to refuse to use the other. The best steak you’ll ever have will be off your own grill, IMHO.

It’s blue. They probably made a mistake. I would have just let the wait staff know and they’d fix the problem immediately. It sucks if you’re trying to have a nice dinner, and I personally hate complaining, but there are certain things which you expect to be baseline OK at a decent restaurant. Hope you got it resolved.

With a few exceptions, I basically stopped ordering steak at restaurants. I can cook a better steak than most restaurants. The sad part is, it’s not hard to cook a decent steak

They should have cooked it properly, but it’s not that hard to send it back. It’s only costing you a few minutes, and they may give you a free side. Who knows.

This is life. To err is human. Politely ask them to cook it a little more and don’t take it out on your server when you tip.
Ordered pizza once and it was not fully cooked. Called and the guy told me to put it in the oven. If I want to put a pizza in the oven I wouldn’t have ordered from him.
Lucky they undercooked it. So I assume you sent it back and asked them to heat it again a little more to get it closer to medium and they happily obliged and in the end there was no issue whatsoever

It’s pretty rare… It’s way more rare than medium rare… If it was a cardinal point it’d be rare-medium-rare.
