First time making Mochi

    lol you chose one of most worthless kitchen utensils. And you chose probably the absolutely worst option for making mochi.

    Reddit has taught me that one needs mochitsuki skills to make proper mochi. It’s like karate cooking.

    So what did you do with it shape it and dry it out in block form to put in noodle soup or to roast it for tea accompaniments. I see you were on the right track.

    The mochi does look like a good consistency.

    But man, get the right utensil. You’ll probably get better up votes by using a fake baby hands to caress the mochi than this pasta scooo strainer.

    Try doing a double boiler technique next time (where you put the dough in a bowl on top of a pot filled with boiling water). It’ll be easier to actually use the mochi that way so you aren’t stuck scraping it out of the pot with the dreaded noodle scoop. It looks a good consistency, though.
