These things are so much bigger than we expected, we made an impromptu structure and are gonna string up a bunch of these branches so that the plants have a bit more stability.

Time to start jarring salsa verde!

    My tomatillos grew really well here in Michigan as well.

    Yours are amazing. Mine are tall, small leaves, not producing. I “rescued” the plant from a local nursery when it was already too big for the pot it was in. I thought it would get better once transplanted, but no.

    I will have to enjoy this photo of what they should look like!! I hope there’s some delicious green salsa in your future!

    I hadn’t grown them before this year. I have a really short growing season and relatively cool temperatures so I figured I would need a few plants to get a decent harvest. I planted 7 plants. The tomatillos are laughing at my foolishness as they overtake everything else in my beds. Next year, two plants.

    Dang, looks like you’ve got a bumper crop on your hands! I always underestimate how sprawly and jungle-like tomatillos get too, they really do their own thing.
