El Metate, a Mexican Restaurant with a pair of locations in south Georgia, opened up a new spot in Warner Robins on Watson Boulevard late last month.
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Warner Robins’ newest Mexican restaurant is the newest location of a quickly growing franchise.
El Metate Mexican Restaurant, which opened at 2624 Watson Boulevard a little less than a month ago, is the third location the restaurant has opened.
They have a pair of locations, both in south Georgia. One is located in Sylvester and the other is in Tifton.
The restaurant itself has both a lunch and dinner-based menu. From 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., it has 23 different and unique orders, specially created to meet lunch portion sizes. They have dishes containing burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and more, all served with sides like rice, beans and/or a guacamole salad.
For dinner, the restaurant offers up a variety of dishes, many of which are focused on different proteins.
They have 16 different protein-based dishes, including many based around steak and beef. They have alambre, which is deep-fried steak or chicken skewered with peppers and onions, or carne asada, which is steak with a special marinade.
They also have their molcajete platter, which comes with chicken breast, a rib-eye steak and shrimp with rice, beans, a guacamole salad and nopales, which is roasted cactus.
If looking for seafood, the restaurant offers multiple dishes containing things like tilapia, shrimp, salmon and even scallops.
The restaurant also offers multiple variations of Mexican restaurant classics. They offer several enchilada options, including one that is topped with mole, a traditional Mexican sauce.
They also have multiple quesadillas, including a variation with birria meat, which is either beef or goat sautéed and cooked in a spicy consome broth. In this dish, it’s layered between a fried corn or flour tortilla and cheese. It’s served with rice, onions and cilantro.
Alongside enchiladas and quesadillas, they serve up other classics like fajitas, flautas, chimichangas and carnitas, which are pork tips cooked with onions. They also have a variety of nachos, burritos and tacos.
The restaurant also flaunts its variety of drinks. Anyone is welcome to enjoy their various soft drinks, or their “Mexican Waters,” which includes drinks like a horchata, which is a sweet beverage traditionally made with ground rice milk or coconut milk and cinnamon.
For those 21 and older, they are welcome to try the restaurant’s various margaritas. They offer a variety of flavors that can be ordered with Patron or Don Julio tequila. They also offer Texas margaritas, which are usually distinguished by adding fresh orange juice.
Since the restaurant opened, they’ve been offering up specials and deals for people to take advantage of. For example, they started Margarita Mondays, where guests can order $1.99 margaritas. They’ll also have drink specials released, like their 46 oz. Frozen Lime Margarita that came out earlier in July.
Alongside these, they’ve started a promotion to get families in the door by allowing kids to eat for only $1.99 every Sunday.
The restaurant is open every day, and opens its doors at 11 a.m. They close at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 10 p.m. during the week and 8 p.m. on Sundays.
