And definitely will make them again! These came flash frozen for $5 a bag from Lidl. I long for the days where I make my eventual trip to Portugal for a seafood feast, but I'll have to enjoy these in North Carolina for now.

Do you gut them before grilling? I do, but I don’t think they bother in Portugal. Theirs are a lot fresher than mine I’d imagine though.

We took our daughter who was 8 at the time to Portugal and she still talks about grilled sardines she had at some random restaurant. I know they were fresh and charcoal grilled. This definitely reminds me of that delicious sardines. I did try to grill them myself at home but just wasn’t the same with frozen sardines.
