After nearly 46 years as a local staple, La Botte Italian Restaurant is turning the page on a new chapter — merging with Mama’s Caffe and relocating to Lompoc’s Old Town.
The newly combined space, dubbed La Botte @ Mama’s Caffe, is projected to open its doors at 112 South I Street on Saturday, Aug. 10, according to co-owner Francesca Agate-Figuereo.
The move follows some recent community confusion about a “for sale” sign at La Botte’s current H Street location.
“We’re not closing — just moving. Same passion, same flavors, new home,” Agate-Figuereo assures customers.

La Botte officially closed its H Street doors on Sunday, making way for its new downtown home on I Street, where it will join up with Mama’s Caffe — a daytime eatery launched in early 2024 by Catarina “Mama” Agate and her daughters Agate-Figuereo and Marlene Agate.
The two family-run businesses will operate on a shared schedule: Mama’s Caffe will continue serving breakfast and lunch essentials like crepes, coffee, and sandwiches, while La Botte @ Mama’s Caffe will take over in the evenings with its beloved Italian classics, including handmade pastas, tiramisu, and regional wines.
The footprint includes private dining areas available for event use, and plans are underway for cooking classes, wine-pairing dinners, and a future outdoor patio with pizza oven. Guests can also look forward to live music, local wines, and craft beer from neighbors Cold Coast Brewing.
“We’re pouring our hearts into this next chapter,” the Agate family said, “and we can’t wait to welcome you into our new home.”
