So this is a really stupid conversation I had with my husband. I had made steaks the night before for Carne Asada and what was left was going to make breakfast burritos. My husband asked me to make bacon along with the eggs to go in them, no problem. From there he asked me to make sausage too…I didn’t have sausages. Anyway, I told him we don’t need 4 meats or 4 proteins. The steak, bacon, and eggs were enough. The conversation proceeded to rather eggs were a meat or not. I see it as they are baby chickens (un- fertilized) but I would classify them in the meat category. He says no they are not! So I want input?

I asked my dad this once as a kid during Lent because I wanted to make eggs on Friday. For those unfamiliar, Catholics abstain from meat on Friday during Lent. He responded “Are you an idiot?”
Eggs are an animal product, but they are not meat. They are an important source of protein in a vegetarian diet.
But because they are an animal product, they are not vegan.
You are correct that eggs are a great source of protein. Your husband is correct that they are not meat.
I agree with you that steak, bacon, sausage and eggs are too much for a breakfast burrito – and surely you were adding cheese as well?
The steak you eat is muscle and fat. Meat is muscle tissue. There’s connective tissue in there but that’s not what you are after.
Is dirt a vegetable?
Was it Balut? Then yes. ^(Can I have some?)
Otherwise, no. It counts like milk and cheese.
