I absolutely adore cooking and could spend the entire day in the kitchen, as long as my feet hold up. However, just because I enjoy it doesn’t mean I need to whip up intricate meals every evening. When it comes to dinner, I embrace a minimalist approach: minimal ingredients, minimal prep, and minimal cleanup. Given our scorching summers, I prefer one-pot meals— the quicker, the better!
Homemade ravioli is a delightful and enjoyable dish to prepare, but I also find that store-bought options taste fantastic. This dis is a winner, my marinara sauce wuth ground beef is amazing with the spinach and ricotta ravioli. You can choose your favorite filling, and most of the varieties I’ve tried have been wonderful. My grandkids love it, and that’s what truly matters to me. I hope you decide to give it a try! ❤️

Hi everybody, welcome back. Have you ever seen these at your grocery store refrigerator aisle? This is ravioli that is ready to go. And this is spinach and ricotta filled ravioli. Now sometimes you’ll find them filled with just plain cheese, just different kinds and all different brands. And you’ll look at them, well, I don’t know what to do with them. They look complicated. Actually, they’re very easy to prepare. That’s what I’m going to be preparing today. Now, sometimes you can find them filled with mushrooms. Sometimes they have lobster filled, different combinations of cheeses and all different brands. Now, my grandkids are coming over today and they absolutely love ravioli and we love it, too. Now, this is a very simple dish to prepare. It just takes minutes to put together. It’s a perfect meal to prepare on a busy night or when you have guests that are coming over. It looks so pretty in the casserole dish. And it looks like you’ve been standing in front of the stove the whole day when you really have it. I’ve got one pound of ground beef right here. And I’m just going to brown it. I’m not going to add anything else to it because I am going to be removing the excess fat. And I don’t want all my seasoning to go along with the excess fat. So that’s why I’m just going to brown it all by itself. Now, I already browned my ground beef, and I am just removing all the excess grease from in here. And there we are. Very easy. Now, I’m going to add my onions. I have one cup of onions right here. And these are finely chopped. Now, I like to finely chop them because the kids won’t find them. They’re looking to see what it is that you put in here. Once they get well cooked, you can’t even see them. And I have 1/3 cup of finely chopped orange bell pepper. They won’t find these either because they’ll blend in real well with the tomatoes. Now, I’m just going to bring them in together until the onions are slightly translucent. [Music] Now, I’m going to add my garlic. I have four large garlic cloves, finely minced, and I’m going to add them in here, right in the middle, so they can release their flavor. I have 3/4 of a teaspoon of oregano, and I have 3/4 of a teaspoon of dried thyme leaves, 3/4 of a teaspoon of black pepper, and 3/4 of a teaspoon of salt. Now, you can adjust it and add as much as you want. Now, I’m just going to move my garlic around for about 1 minute because I don’t want it to burn. Ooh, this seasoning is perfect in here. Now, you can also use Italian seasoning if you’d rather do that, and you can just use as much as you want. So, it’s been about a minute now. I’m ready to add my beef broth. I’ve got one cup of beef broth. I think this will just add a delicious flavor to the whole dish. And I’m going to add one whole can, 28 oz of crushed tomatoes. You can use your favorite brand. This is my homemade marinara sauce. Now, as you can see, you can hardly see the orange bell pepper and the chopped onions. And that’s why I prepare it like this, so the kids won’t find it. Now I’m going to replace my lid and I’m going to wait until it comes up to a low boil before I move on to the next step. Super easy. Now while I wait for my marinara sauce to come up to a boil, I’m going to cut my basil. I’ve got some fresh basil right here and I’m going to roll it up like a little cigarette and then cut it up into thin ribbons. Now I’m going to turn it sideways and I’m just going to chop it up just like that. Very easy. And I’m going to add it in here. This is going to be delicious. I’m going to replace the lid and wait till it comes up to a boil. So, my marinara sauce has come up to a boil. I’m going to turn off the heat. Now, I’m ready to put everything together. I always wait until it comes up to a boil because I want it to be hot right before I put it into the oven. This would be a good time for you to turn your oven on and make sure that you’ve got it nice and hot. I have mine set at 350 degrees, ready to go. I’m going to lightly spray my dish. I’m going to put some of the marinara sauce right here in the bottom and just spread it out. And I like to be generous. Oh, there’s my Ron. Hey, Ron. What’s going on? Well, I’m putting this ravioli together. Does it smell good, Ron? It smells great. M I know. I think the whole neighborhood can smell it. So, I’ve got a good layer of the marinara sauce in the bottom. Now, I’m going to add my ravioli. Now, you can also use frozen ravioli if you want to do that. But these are in the refrigerated part of the store. Just like that. And that’s good. Now, I’m going to add some freshly grated mozzarella cheese right on top. Try not to use the package kind. Well, it looks like you have it under control. So, I’ll go sit down and wait till it’s ready. You’re going to sit in the patio or you’re going inside? In the patio. Okay. Now, I’ve got some freshly grated Parmesano Reano and I’m going to put it right on top of the mozzarella. Just a little bit, but it’s enough to give it a delicious flavor. Now, I’m going to add a little bit more of this marinara sauce right on top. Now, you want your ravioli to be nicely covered because you don’t want any dry corners. And that’s good. Now, the second layer. Now, you can always make it one layer if you want to do that. Now, the cheese. and the rest of the marinara sauce right on top. I’m going to add a little bit more of the basil right on top. And that’s it. Now, I’m going to cover it up with some aluminum foil and I’m going to put it in my oven for 35 minutes. And then I’m going to remove the aluminum foil and keep it in there for another 5 minutes. So it’ll get nice and golden from the top. So, my ravioli is ready. 35 minutes covered, 5 minutes uncovered. Come take a look. Now, I’m just going to let it sit here for about 5 minutes so it’ll cool down just a little bit before serving. Now, I’m ready for the taste test. I asked my Ron if he wanted to do a taste test with me, but he said he was on his way to go pick up the kids. So, I’m just going to have to do a taste test all by myself. M. Oh, look at this. See? Mhm. [Music] Little bit more of the sauce. Yummy. And we’re going to be enjoying it with some garlic bread. You can serve it with your favorite bread and a nice cold salad. It’s a perfect combination. I like something cold and crunchy right on the side. Now it’s time for the taste test. [Music] Oh, look at this. Mm- [Music] Mm-m. M. And now some of my fresh basil lemonade. Oh my goodness. That’s delicious. Look at this. So good and so refreshing. So this is my wonderful ravioli. This is my first time watching you cook, I never would have thought to cook ravioli this way. Your homemade sauce looks delicious. I can’t wait to try your recipe.
Do you ever make raviolis from scratch that'd be good for another show for you I like to learn how
Rachel
Much blessings.
On this recipe, you didn't include
Ingredients for ' basil Lemonade!!😮
Great idea. But that's a meat sauce you made, not marinara. Marinara has no meat. I know, you're not Italian, and I won't hold it against you. I love your recipes. ❤
Hello Rachel from Cape Cod Massachusetts 👋👋. Wow I’m loving this recipe. I’m going to try it this week. Thank you my friend for sharing with us. God bless you and Ron. Take care✌️🇺🇸❤️❤️
You, too, are just adorable 😊❤
Love the outdoor kitchen
i'm going to make it thanks.
Yum! That looks absolutely delicious! Your garden is beautiful.
Hi Rachel…have you ever considered writing a cookbook? You have such delicious recipes that would be wonderful all together in a cookbook!
Would the lasagna cook for the same amount of time and at the same temp I don't use meat?
I'm Italian, we use only basil, not oregano.
Ravioli looks great, beautiful yard and the sweetest couple ❤
Looks delish 😋Does Ravioli come Gluten Free??

Marinara sauce doesn’t contain meat. You’ve made a delicious meat sauce.
Love your backyard. Your plants are looking outstanding.
I love your kitchen.
lucky lady,
I don’t like thyme and would recommend Italian seasoning but other than that the recipe looks great and I’m sure tastes the same way
Thank you for sharing. I tried your chipotle wraps, and they were good. We just made a brisket, so I'm going to sub the ground beef with the brisket. Let's see what happens.
I call this Ravioli Lasagna and I always use Walmart's Frozen Cheese Ravioli. Layered with homemade meatsauce and mozzarella and parmesan. It's great for a crowd or potluck.
You look great! I haven't seen your video in a bit. You have lost so much weight. Oh yeah the ravioli looks soo good!

I love this meal idea I’m definitely gonna make it. And I love your outdoor set up. It is so cool and pretty. I don’t think I heard you say what temperature to set the oven on. Or does anybody else know?
Hello Rachel 👋 your tip for removing excess grease is a game changer… rather than having to empty the meat you do your paper towel trick! 👍 Your meal looks so delicious! Thanks for sharing. Your backyard is so stunning, like a vacation oasis!! Sitting there with one of your cool homemade strawberry/watermelon drinks! Paradise is a short walk outside your door to the backyard!! Just lovely… enjoy Rachel and Ron! 👍💕
