Just discovered a fun way to clean your puck screen. Saw a video of someone cleaning their puck screen with an ultrasonic cleaner and getting out a ton of gunk. I was just using the portafilter to hold it but it started spinning!
Unless someone has already done this before…

It doesn’t get any cleaner just because it spins. If you put it in an ultrasonic cleaner, you’ll discover a lot. When I bought an ultrasonic cleaner, I stopped using a puck screen, because I saw what I was actually drinking.

i had the same experience with the old puck screens, too much old coffee stay inside.
so i switched to this, and i am happy with it.

Doesn’t it scratch the inside of the portafilter? The puck screen functions sort of like an angle grinder.

Just fill a bowl with hot water and soak with cafiza powder for 30 minutes. Also buy several puck screens so you can rotate through them and soak them all together every 2 weeks. Each screen stays cleaner due to less use.
