I just throw on an old glove and scrub while cold using one of these stainless steel scrubbers. I toss the glove and the scrubber after a while and replace. This one’s a bit over due. 😅

Am I missing a step here? This has always been the easiest way to clean for me but I don’t see it recommended much. My grate is also stainless so I figured it won’t hurt it.

I have a handle that holds two of those that I’ve had for decades. Just pop two new ones on once a year and I’m good to go. Bought it at some home and garden show.

Watch out for loose fibers. I use a chainmail scrubber.

I always use Costco oven and grill spray and a green scotch Brite. Its a bit of work but it usually leaves it pretty nice and shiny. If its been a while since I grilled and its a bit rusty, I hit it with a drill and wire brush but make sure to triple check for loose metal shards.

And just look at how well they clean those grates!

My grate hasn’t been that clean since it was new.

I usually lay down aluminum foil on the grates as the grill is warming up. Once I’m ready to cook, I ball up the aluminum foil and use it to clean it with tongs.
