Use lots of blackening seasonings on the patties. Paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, etc. Got a nice sear on a medium rare cook. Used this thick 1/4-in bacon I found. One of the best grill burgers I've had. I'm the only one in my house who can tolerate bleu cheese.
