Staking your zucchini is important because it helps keep the plant upright, which improves air circulation and reduces the risk of fungal diseases like powdery mildew. It also makes harvesting easier and prevents the fruit from sitting on damp soil, which can lead to rot or pest damage.
With upright flowers, pollinators can also make their way to each one easier… plus the vertical gardening setup makes it possible to grow more partial shade tolerant foods like lettuce, spinach, radishes, and carrots underneath the zucchini.

It's a good thing to do 😊
Absolutely correct, my mum taught me to do this as well.
Mine never stood a chance they started off great then slowly died off one by one or eaten alive sadly.. the best ones got the worms inside the squash
Great idea. I should try this with my butternut squash.
That's! How you do it. I did it wrong. Now, i have no yellow summer squash. 😢
#4 Crawling bugs (like pill beetles) are less likely to make a snack out of juvenile fruit or flowers.
