Don’t zoom in too much and you might not notice the cabbage moth damage or how badly this bed needs weeded. IDC. These cabbages are so PRETTY. Prettier than any non-edible ornamentals I’ve ever planted. Hostas move over—I plant cabbage in my landscape.

Spray them with BT…. Fast! You have cutworms and your cabbage will not be pretty for long.

I like incorporating artichokes and okra into ornamental gardens. Their flowers are really pretty!

Nice job! Cabbage moths got the majority of mine but I did eke out a few servings for home. I have a few plants that I’ve cut. Waiting to see if they’ll do anything again in the fall. ✌🏽

Every time I plant something within the cabbage family, it gets ravaged by insects. I use diatomaceous earth, neem oil, whatever I can get my hands on. How do you keep the insects at bay? I’m in Kentucky, and we have some savage buggers.

Those big broad leaves are delicious prepared like you would collards or cooked kale. I discovered that this year along with broccoli leaves. Bonus greens that are so healthy and taste great!

Try planting purple cabbage for color plus it looks great in coleslaw.
