CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – An Italian restaurant closed its Uptown location after 14 years.
Bella Ciao, located along South Tryon Street near East 4th Street, is now listed as permanently closed.
The restaurant pinned a note on its door to inform guests stopping by that it had closed, while also elaborating on the reasoning behind the decision. The full note can be seen at the bottom of this article.
Why did Bella Ciao close?
According to the management team, “economic conditions in Uptown” were the main factor in the restaurant’s closure.
Officials also cited the pandemic as an issue.
“It has been a pleasure to serve you over the course of the last 14 years,” the restaurant’s note read in part. “We have served over 2.5 million guests during this time.”
