When you’re trying to lose weight but still want to enjoy delicious food, finding the right balance can be tricky. But one Reddit user shared a delicious protein-packed recipe that gives you the best of both worlds.
In the VolumeEating subreddit, one user shared a recipe for a chicken sandwich that’s helped them lose 25 pounds. They eat it with a side of fries and pickles. Sounds too good to be true, right? Wrong.
The user shared that the meal is 404 calories total, which includes a serving of light mayonnaise and sugar-free ketchup. The chicken is served on a keto bun to complete the sandwich.

To make the chicken sandwich, they shared that they use Just Bare Chicken Patties, which can be found in the frozen section at stores like Walmart and Target. The user said they’re on the pricey side, but it’s a good bang for your buck.
Just pop the chicken patty in the air fryer until it’s fully cooked and crispy.
The side of fries comes to just over 120 calories.
“I cut 160 grams of Idaho potato into fry slices, put just a drizzle of avocado oil, add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and cajun seasoning. Then i wet a paper towel and put it over the potato fries and microwave it for 2 minutes,” the user wrote.
Once the fries are clear and soft, they throw them into the air fryer until they’re crispy. Since they microwave them first, it usually only takes around 10 minutes to bake in the air fryer.
Top it off with a few crunchy pickles on the side, and you’ve got a full-on comfort meal that fits into a calorie deficit and actually leaves you satisfied.
