Hi, my name is Tori. I’m originally from Detroit, Michigan. My name is Kenya. I am from Phoenix, Arizona. My name is Michaela Figures. I’m from Grand Rapids, Michigan. And today I have fried catfish. What makes my catfish the bomb? Well, I like to soak mine in buttermilk a little bit before my process. What makes my catfish better than others is that I cooked it. I don’t know what to tell you. I seasoned it. I take my time. Make sure I got my music on. That’s what makes your food taste better. Crispiness. It ain’t too crispy no more. But it’s um the crispiness and the seasonings on my catfish are on point. Um the seasoning process to help get the the wild taste off of it. I think that’s helped stand out a little bit. And um basing it with the mustard. I use Dijon mustard instead of like traditional yellow mustard that everybody else uses on it. Um, my granny, do she eat catfish? I don’t know if she eat catfish, but I think she would approve. What would describe your catfish in one word? Flavorful. Tasty. As my kids would say, blessing. I like to use the um creole seasoning. It gives it that um southern taste more. I don’t have any passed down recipes. It’s all DNA passed down, I guess. Would my grandmother approve this cafe? She definitely would, but I think she would say she would want it more of um a crunch to it, you know? Like I like mine well done, hard, even like the inside. It can be like too soft but not too dry. Like very perfect. [Music] [Music] Okay. Okay. Okay. First off looks, it kind of looks like tilapia. Based on presentation, I’m going to say yes. I like the garnish that’s put on here. I’ve never even seen frozen catfish like this, but we It’s okay. The smell fishy. I can smell it, which is not a a red flag. Now, being a cook, this doesn’t look like fish to me. It look like tilapia, but we going to try it still. [Music] It looks baked or airfried. Maybe. Maybe. Let’s see. We going to find out. [Music] Okay. It’s lacking a lot of seasoning. A lot of seasoning. Um I don’t taste no salt on it at all. Personally, it’s greasy. Very, very greasy. Okay. Maybe she fried it before the grease got too hot. It ain’t no seasoning. Not It’s not no salt on it at all. Maybe some garlic powder and onion powder. Um, when she took it out, didn’t let it drain properly. That’s what it’s giving. It’s too oily for me. The only problem is it’s lacking seasoning bad. Like really big. It’s It’s not Granny House approved. This is not Cookout approved either. I don’t even know if the healthy people will eat it. I taste the garnish, whatever this garnish is. and then the the sear part. But flavorful, no. Nope. Just for presentation alone, I’ll give it a three. I’m going to give this like a um like a three. Okay. All right. So, this fish, it looks pretty good. Um okay. based on our presentation. Not too appealing. Definitely homemade. It’s a little It look like it’s a little crunchy. I mean, I can’t complain. Unless, let’s just try it. If it were me, I wouldn’t I wouldn’t sell this to somebody. It doesn’t look appealing. Like, that’s the first thing to me. Like, when somebody bring me a plate, if my food doesn’t look good, I n I don’t want to eat it. It smells seasoned. [Music] Okay. It don’t smell bad. See, it’s falling apart. Okay. Oh. Okay. Definitely a black person made this. It’s pretty good. I like it. It’s soft on the inside for sure. It’s crunchy. It’s flavorful. I like it. I would say it’s a cookout. Um, [Music] I was trying to think of something to put in it, but honestly, I would say more seasoning. If it was fresh, it probably would taste a lot better, I’m sure, but I just don’t like how the crush is coming off like that. I wouldn’t like they taking away from the, you know, the texture, the the taste of the the catfish cuz it’s it’s what I don’t know. But other than that, it’s it’s not that bad. It’s definitely crunchy enough. It’s pretty good. I can’t complain about it. I would say this definitely cookout material. They definitely was raised by the granny whoever made this. I would definitely rate this probably a nine. I taste the cornmeal for sure. I’m a fan of cornmeal, so that don’t bother me. I just taste the blends of like um garlic powder, onion powder, the the basics. I’ll give it a five. Final answer. [Music] Okay. Well, it’s looking looking how I like it. Pretty crummy. Pretty uh crunchy. What’s this here? Okay, let’s see what this is hidden for. It looks like it has uh it look like it has enough seasoning. It looks like it’s good. You know, I’m a little fancy lady and I would like some parsley on top, you know, just make it look look a little good. Other than that, it looks good. Let’s see what it tastes like. [Music] Okay. I feel like they didn’t cook this fish. Somebody bought this fish. Where they buy us from? Who bought this? Cookout approval. M. Yeah, I’ll definitely order this like how they did it. They definitely ordered it. They made the sauce probably, but it’s pretty good. That’s I approve. Yeah, I’ll be honest. A 10 out of 10. [Music] Thank you. That’s what’s up. I didn’t know. I just came with an open mind. You know, win or lose, it was just for the exposure, you know, so I didn’t mind either way. So, thank you for having me.
