Petite top sirloin or culotte. Second to last cut from the wide end.

I was going to say I’m sure it’s beef.

Looks like strip to me though.

I’m gonna agree with the person who said tri tip. Never seen a picanha look like this, and there’s not enough visible sinew to think that it’s an ass end NY. This looks like a tri tip steak where the fst cap hasn’t been removed.

Thanks everyone for the help! It looks like a majority of people are saying it’s NY strip steak with a few people saying it might be tri tip. I’ll cook it like an NY strip steak and see what happens! Wish me luck!

hard to tell, fat cap makes it look like Ny strip, marbling like tri-tip even prime NY doesn’t marble like that

It absolutely looks like a Denver to me(from the chuck underblade)

That’s clearly Dave. Broke out of prison days ago

  8. This is tri tip that has been sliced into steaks directly perpendicular to the grain. The reason many of you have not seen tri tip like this is because most meat cutters don’t cut it perpendicular, but at an angle because it’s both easier to cut and less wasteful.

[Here you can see many of the different shaped steaks a tri tip can be cut into](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Falpinebutcher.com%2Fcdn%2Fshop%2Fproducts%2Fimage_d6ee6080-2cf3-4454-b33e-7d44571a45f5.heic%3Fv%3D1695588078&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=96190385ec5ff95a8540716fdc7c9a20eccfe010df0fceb0afcdc93d1162db7f), of which you can see a few that are very similar to OP’s steak.
