Seems to be just the tip of the iceberg… everybody got mushroomed this year!

If you bought from Home Depot, every single plant they had labeled as scotch bonnet is actually Jamaican mushroom

Scotch Bonnet. I am growing/grew SB and they look(ed) just like these.

Bought mine from a small greenhouse in WNY as SB, also Jamaican mushrooms. Seems to be most of us who got seedlings this year.

We intentionally grew red mushroom peppers, but don’t know much about them. Are they not good? Other than being duped, why are y’all upset?

A lot of the ones I’ve seen out there this year are ripening to red, and if I’m not mistaken, those are the ones that people seem disappointed with in terms of flavour. I intentionally grew yellow Jamaican mushroom last season and they were honestly pretty friggin awesome. Like a yellow bell pepper, with very thin flesh and some heat. Amazing for sauces.

I’m in the uk here. And I bought this scotch bonnet plant from a garden centre and the fruits look a bit ‘mushroomy’.
