HOWLIN RAYS SUCKS!

Now that i got your attention, i want to clarify things- Howlin rays isnt bad, its just over rated!

I have been hearing about howlin rays for years, and finally got to try it. YES the chicken is JUICY AND TENDER! i will give them that, but the crunch on the batter is pretty weak, and there is no seasoning blend. heck popeyes and kfc have more ''' flavor.'' all howlin rays uses is salt and chile powder, and i mean A LOT OF SALT. i think they forgot the garlic and thyme and onion powder and so on…

paying for sauces is criminal, and combos not even coming with sides is wild, especially for the insane prices… which to me, the sides were lacking. no where as good as hatti bs and other places.

ive been to 30 different hot chicken locations in about 18 other states, and howlin is kind of mid. it seems like every compares it to daves hot chicken, which is a chain. and dare i say it, but daves has more flavor. sure its not as spicy, but its hot some flavor and a good crunch and free sauce

also, HOWLIN RAYS ISNT THAT SPICY! I was legit scared after watching every video of spice kings giving up on it, and even sean evans from hot ones couldnt do the howlin challenge. the videos of people that did finish it, were drenched in sweat with snot and tears down their face and saying its so much hotter than the one chip challenge

so to warm up, i tried a medium, hot and extra hot tender platter, and the flavor was lacking on all of them. def hotter than daves on their scale, but so salty. then i moved on to the waiver signed howlin plus plus tender, with EVERY EMPLOYEE WARNING ME, almost to the point of harrassment ( jk)

i tried it, expecting to do one bite and freak out and talk about it during a short video, but instead i was shocked on how it was a let down for spice and finished the tender

but i will say, the customer service is AMAZING! super talkative and friendly employees, beyond helpful, and it makes chick fil a customer service look stiff. They exceed in friendliness and it seems so natural

so sorry about my rant and if i offended the cult following of howlin rays, but its just my opinion

pros- super friendly service, spicier than most places, and juicy tender melt in your mouth chicken

cons- no flavor in the seasoning, very salty, weak batter/crust, pay for sauces, overpriced
